July,12, 2025——Wenzhou University (WZU) successfully held the 2025 Global Leadership Summer Camp from July 7 to 11, bringing together 40 outstanding students from countries including Morocco, Zimbabwe, and Turkmenistan for an immersive cross-cultural learning experience.

The camp, organized by the College of International Education, aimed to foster cultural exchange and cultivate future leaders with a global perspective. At the opening ceremony, Xia Yuanzhi, Dean of the College, highlighted WZU’s commitment to international education, encouraging participants to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture while enhancing their global competitiveness.
Ayzhan, a student from Turkmenistan, spoke on behalf of the attendees, expressing her eagerness to develop international vision and cross-cultural management skills. The ceremony concluded with the symbolic passing of the camp flag to student representative Hao Zhehui by Lin Aiju, Party Secretary of the College.

The five-day program featured academic lectures, cultural workshops, and hands-on training. Experts including Lou Liaofan, Deputy Director of Wenzhou Foreign Affairs Office, analyzed global trends and China’s diplomatic strategies, while Lin Aiju delivered a career-planning lecture centered on Belt and Road opportunities. Zheng Guojian, Director of Wenzhou International Communication Center, shared insights on new media trends.
Cultural activities ranged from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) sessions led by health expert Qian Xuanyao to tai chi classes exploring its philosophical principles. Participants also toured WZU’s history museum, learning about its 90-year legacy. Practical training included safety workshops by local police and emergency response drills conducted by Wenzhou Medical University.

"The TCM experience revealed the wisdom of Eastern culture," said Yin Chunhua from Morocco. Mohamed from Somalia noted the career lectures provided "clear direction for the future," while Aisha from Bangladesh found inspiration in tai chi’s "softness overcoming hardness" principle.
Following the camp, students will embark on two-month group projects to apply their learning in promoting international exchange. Ding Qiang, Deputy Party Secretary of the College, expressed hopes that participants would become ambassadors of cross-cultural understanding.
